Just for Fun
Belegarth Medieval Combat Society
Belegarth Medieval Combat Society is a fun, safe, and inexpensive sport where participants wear medieval or fantasy-themed clothing and fight with foam-padded weapons. The fighting is hard and fast and has, since 1979, refined into its own brand of martial art. The rules are easy to learn, and after a few practices, you’ll be hooked!
Like traditional sport teams, Belegarth groups have themes and symbols. Many groups choose to base themselves on medieval fantasy fiction or history such as Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, or ancient Rome. Participants choose a name that represents them and can choose to portray a character or to simply just fight. Since the Belegarth ruleset is for combat and safety only, all role-play is optional. The amount of effort you put into your characterization is up to you!  Belegarth provides a great environment for both serious role players and those who would rather just fight.
Fur Trade Reenactment
Living its likes its 1815
Historical Reenactment of the North American Fur Trade, specifically the North West Company in their prime, the year 1815.
In North American history, a rendezvous was a larger meeting held typically once per year in the wilderness. All types included a major transfer of furs and goods to be traded for furs. Variations included a mix of other types of trading, business transactions, business meetings and revelry.
The North West Company was a fur trading business headquartered in Montreal 1779 to 1821. It competed with increasing success against the HBC in what is present-day Western Canada. With great wealth at stake, tensions between the companies increased to the point where several minor armed skirmishes broke out, and the two companies were forced by the British government to merge.
My Cat, Jack
Outstanding Quality Cuteness and Cuddles
My cat, Captain Jack Harkness is my buddy in the north where I teach. He provides love and cuddles, and the occasional toe nibble. Also endless cuteness.
My Cat, River
Abundant Energy & Playful Cuddles
I got a second kitty, her name is River Song...anyone see a theme? She provides far more toe nibbles than Jack. She also provides endless laughs as the destroyer of toys and gives quality cuddles when she tires herself out.
